Star Wars: The Force Awakens had one of the longest build-ups to a movie ever. It needed it. The older die-hard fans were left wanting much more after the dreadful prequels were over. And they needed to get the new generation of moviegoers excited about the world of Star Wars.
When huge events happen, like the release of a new Star Wars film, all the toys to go along with it do not stay in a galaxy far far away.
Here is a list of 10 Star Wars toys and games hand-picked for the adult Star Wars fan. Some of them will bring back old nostalgic feelings, while others you’ll want just to place on a shelf and look at.
Hot Wheels Star Wars Character Car (8-Pack)
All the boys in school had tons of Hot Wheels. They were much cheaper than other toys and the quality was excellent. Damn near indestructible really.
Good news! While the quality today might not standup to the quality of old, they are still cheaper than most toys. This pack includes 8 iconic Star Wars characters reimagined as Hot Wheels cars at about $3.50 a piece.
- Darth Vader
- Luke Skywalker
- Tusken Raider
- 501st Clone Trooper
Sphero BB-8 App-Enabled Droid
When BB-8 rolled into our imaginations during the official teaser for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, most thought the cute little guy was nothing more than CGI. Then he rolled onto stage during the Star Wars Celebration conference last April and our jaws dropped.
Sphero kept the ball rolling by creating a mobile phone controlled version of BB-8 for ‘Force Friday’. Sphero’s BB-8 can recognize and react to your voice, has a top speed of 4.5 mph, and more. It quickly sold out.
The Force Awakens is now a few months old and the Sphero BB-8 is back in stock at most stores.

Star Wars: Battlefront
No matter my age, I still enjoy playing video games. Whether it’s Candy Crush Jelly Saga on my phone or something a little more involved on the PS4, it’s all fun. And Star Wars: Battlefront is just that.
Don’t let the critics or Benjamin Burnley’s Instagram rant prevent you from getting this game. It’s a big step up from the past trash that are Star Wars video games. I’m talking about you Star Wars: Masters of Teräs Käsi.
While the content was a little shallow for launch, the regular updates and recent expansions like Star Wars Battlefront Outer Rim have brought more weapons, maps, game modes, characters and power-ups.
The game is available on Playstation 4, Xbox One or PC. Sorry Nintendo fans, there is no intention to create Battlefront for the Wii-U at this time.
I know so many adults that love LEGOs. Their are even sets just for adults like those from the LEGOs Architecture collection. Below are three great Star Wars themed LEGO sets.
LEGO Star Wars Kylo Ren’s Command Shuttle 75104 Building Kit
The “Jedi Killer” with mommy and daddy issues has a heck of a ride. Kylo Ren’s command shuttle resembles a Tyderium if it were slapped upside the head by Kylo Ren himself.
This black and red death machine makes its first appearance at the very beginning of The Force Awakens when the First Order is raiding Jakku.
LEGO Star Wars First Order Special Forces TIE Fighter 75101 Building Kit
The TIE Fighter is to the Galactic Empire what the X-Wing is to the Rebel Alliance and the New Republic. They’re extremely fast, deadly and insanely maneuverable.
Low production costs made it possible for the Empire to send massive swarms of these things into battle; usually netting them a win because of shear numbers.
This Special Forces TIE Fighter, just like the one Poe and Finn steal near the beginning of The Force Awakens, is unique. It’s a two-seater unlike previous TIE models. Plus, it’s been equipped with enhanced weapons, a hyperdrive and deflector shields. A truly worthy opponent for X-Wing pilots.
LEGO Star Wars Poe’s X-Wing Fighter 75102 Building Kit
Poe Dameron is a pilot like none other. He helps Finn escape with the previously mentioned Special Forces TIE Fighter near the beginning of The Force Awakens, is thought to be dead after they crash land on Jakku and then he saves the day by destroying the oscillator on Star Killer Base.
A pilot of his stature needs some wings with bling. So his T-70 X-Wing sports a black body with orange accents and the other pilots know him by the callsign Black Leader.
LEGO Star Wars Millennium Falcon 75105 Building Kit
The Millennium Falcon is truly one of a kind. This freighter ship was once owned by Lando Calrissian before he lost it to Solo in a game of sabacc.
It seems to always be under repair, thanks to its many finicky upgrades. Like the hyperdrive engine that lets Solo outrun Imperial Star Destroyers.
This LEGO set of the Millennium Falcon even features the holochess board made famous in A New Hope.
If you asked a person that had never seen a Star Wars movie what a lightsaber was, chances are that they could describe it to you. That’s how popular of a sci-fi weapon they were and still are.
Below are a few iconic Star Wars lightsabers that are perfect for collecting or casual dueling. A note of caution: the LED string in these can fail when they are used for dueling.
Star Wars The Black Series Kylo Ren Force FX Deluxe Lightsaber
Kylo Ren’s lightsaber is unlike any other we’ve seen in the Star Wars movies thanks to its type of crystal.
A single cracked Kyber crystal gives the lightsaber its red plasma blades and their unstable, serrated appearance. The Kyber crystal produces so much heat that side vents were needed.
Star Wars The Black Series Luke Skywalker Force FX Lightsaber
Who could forget the first lightsaber Luke ever used. Originally belonging to his father, this blue bladed lightsaber has been through some serious shit. Anakin used it throughout the Clone Wars three-year conflict and he used it to slay Count Dooku.
Vader would go on to lose the lightsaber to Obi-Wan Kenobi in a duel. Obi-Wan later gave the lightsaber to Luke.
Star Wars The Black Series Yoda Force FX Lightsaber
As bad as the prequels were, they gave us the first glimpse of what Yoda could do with a lightsaber. When Yoda squared up against Dooku in Attack of the Clones I actually started laughing when he went after him like Sonic the Hedgehog on crack.
The green blade emitted by the Kyber crystal compliments his skin color. And the shorter-than-average hilt suits his small stature.
This is a small portion of the vast library of great Star Wars toys for adults that are out there.
